The Johns Creek Lady Gladiators put together an impressive offensive performance Wednesday night, defeating North Atlanta 18-4 at North Atlanta High School.
Johns Creek wasted little time setting the tone as leadoff hitter Zelda Arthur opened the game with a double off the left-field fence. The Gladiators' bats stayed hot throughout the evening, with Collins Freret, Addie Grindle, and Hailey Brown each recording multi-hit games to pace the offense. Allie Lafon, Alanna Mackin, and Sydney Laun also contributed key hits in the victory.
The highlight of the night came courtesy of sophomore standout Uma Pittman, who blasted a two-run home run and continued her outstanding play on both sides of the ball. Pittman has been a major force for the Lady Gladiators this season, contributing both at the plate and in the circle.
In the pitching circle, Pittman and Brown combined efforts to limit North Atlanta to four runs and secure the convincing win.
With the victory, the Lady Gladiators carry momentum into a busy week ahead. Johns Creek returns to action next week with games against Norcross on Monday, Sprayberry on Wednesday, and Collins Hill on Thursday.
The Lady Gladiators will look to keep their strong play going as they continue their season against a challenging slate of opponents. They are now 9-2 on the season.
