Aerin Kim - Varsity Golf
Johns Creek High School is proud to recognize Aerin Kim as the August Female Athlete of the Month for her outstanding achievements both on the golf course and in the classroom.
Aerin has established herself as one of the premier golfers in the state of Georgia during her remarkable career as a Gladiator. Last season, she helped lead the Johns Creek girls golf team to its third consecutive state championship, while also earning State Runner-Up honors individually. Her exceptional play throughout the year resulted in her being named to the All-State Golf Team.
Consistency has defined Aerin's high school career. In each of her three appearances at the GHSA State Tournament, she has finished among the top five golfers in the state, making her one of the most accomplished golfers in Johns Creek history.
Head Golf Coach Jon Anderson praised Aerin's growth, leadership, and impact on the team's championship success:
“Aerin has been one of our most consistent players ever since she was a freshman. She has been an integral part of all three state championships, but played an even larger role this year. She took her game to a new level in the last month of the season, shooting a two-day, 6-under-par and finishing second overall. Without her performance, we wouldn't have won state last year. She has become more of a leader for this team, being present and more involved. I am very excited for what she will accomplish this year and beyond.”
Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Aerin is equally respected in the classroom for her positive attitude and dedication to her studies.
Mrs. Lovern shared, “Aerin is so easy to work with as she comes in each day with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.”
Mrs. Smiley also added, “Aerin is always positive and easy to work with. She got all of her work submitted on time and put forth her best effort.”
Aerin's ability to excel academically while competing at the highest level of high school golf exemplifies the values of Johns Creek High School. Her leadership, work ethic, and commitment to excellence have made her a vital part of the Gladiators' championship culture and a role model for her teammates.
As she enters another season, Aerin continues to raise the standard for success both on and off the course, and the future remains exceptionally bright for one of Georgia's top golfers.
