The Johns Creek Lady Gladiators traveled to Collins Hill on September 28 and battled the Eagles in a hard-fought contest before ultimately falling 16-8. The game remained competitive through the early innings, with the two teams trading runs and keeping the outcome in doubt. However, Collins Hill broke the game open in the fifth inning, erupting for eight runs to create separation and secure the victory.
Offensively, the Lady Gladiators were led by Reese Stiltner, who continued her strong season with another multi-hit performance at the plate. Addie Grindle and Isla Wells also contributed offensively, each collecting hits and helping keep the Johns Creek offense moving throughout the game. Zelda Arthur walked 3 times and stole two bases. Kennedy Brewer had a pinch hit RBI triple as well.
One of the biggest highlights of the night came on the defensive side. Audrey Lafon delivered a spectacular web gem when she leaped to snag a screaming line drive and then quickly doubled off the runner at first base, turning an impressive double play that showcased her athleticism and defensive instincts.
Despite the setback, the Lady Gladiators will look to bounce back quickly as they return to action tonight against Riverwood. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Riverwood as Johns Creek aims to get back in the win column.
