The Johns Creek Lady Gladiators earned their first region victory of the season on Tuesday night, defeating the Roswell Hornets 3-2 at Johns Creek High School. The win improves the Lady Gladiators to 1-0 in region play and 12-2 overall. This gives the Gladiators their 9th victory in a row.
Uma Pittman delivered a dominant performance in the circle, allowing just one infield single while limiting Roswell to two walks and striking out six batters. Pittman also contributed offensively, collecting two hits and driving in a run to help lead the Johns Creek attack.
Additional hits for the Lady Gladiators came from Zelda Arthur, Allie Lafon, Audrey Lafon, and Addie Grindle. Johns Creek's defense was equally impressive throughout the contest, with middle infielders Audrey Lafon and Zelda Arthur turning in several outstanding plays to help preserve the victory.
The Lady Gladiators now stand at 1-0 in region competition and return to action today when they travel to Sprayberry to take on the Yellow Jackets. First pitch is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
