The JV Gladiators earned a 23-16 win over Riverwood on Wednesday night behind strong performances from several freshmen on both sides of the ball.
Freshman running back Steven Cruz led the offense with a three-touchdown rushing performance, helping the Gladiators build enough momentum to secure the victory.
On defense, freshman Danny Soile was a constant presence in the backfield, finishing the night with 2 sacks and 5 total tackles for loss. His disruptive play helped keep Riverwood's offense in check throughout the game.
Freshman Oliver Johnson contributed in every phase of the game. He recorded an 18-yard reception on offense, helped the Gladiators gain possession with a successful onside kick, and sealed the win with a late interception on defense.
It was a complete team effort for the Gladiators, with key plays on offense, defense, and special teams proving to be the difference in a hard-fought 23-16 victory over Riverwood.
