Favorite Memory – It’s hard to pick just one. This year we hoisted the FCC Team Points Trophy for the tenth straight time. To me this is the true mark of our team. In our county there are several teams who have all made the podium and won at state over the last several years. You can't have a small group of all-stars who just win a couple races. You need the whole team to contribute. You need your relays, your year-round swimmers, your summer swimmers, you need everyone to score 4 deep to compete. To watch the captain’s lead, the seasonal and year-round swimmers come together and to see all the work that has gone into that trophy from so many graduating classes is almost incomprehensible. The athletes that started that ball rolling are now adults (probably with their own kids!) Thinking back on so many amazing individual and team efforts, cheering, laughing and crying together as a team in just in the years I have been privileged to coach them, and realizing there is so much more that went into it. Watching the team get to celebrate that accomplishment, and to be part of it was very special.
