The Johns Creek Gladiators continued their strong season on August 24, defeating the Norcross Blue Devils 5-1 at Johns Creek High School. With the victory, the Gladiators improved their overall record to 10-2.
Johns Creek was powered by another outstanding performance from sophomore pitcher Uma Pittman. Pittman dominated in the circle, striking out seven batters while allowing just two hits and one run over her outing. She kept the Norcross offense off balance throughout the game and helped the Gladiators secure the win.
Offensively, Reese Stiltner led the way for Johns Creek with two hits and two RBIs. The Gladiators also received hits from Zelda Arthur, Allie Lafon, Uma Pittman, Audrey Lafon, and Addie Grindle as they put together a balanced attack at the plate.
Sydney Laun contributed with a perfectly placed bunt that resulted in an infield hit, providing an additional spark for the offense. Defensively, Audrey Lafon turned in an impressive performance, making several outstanding plays in the field to help preserve the Gladiators' advantage.
With contributions throughout the lineup and another strong showing in the circle, Johns Creek continued its successful start to the season and will look to build on its 10-2 record in the games ahead. The Gladiators match up with Sprayberry this evening (8/26) at 5:55 pm at Johns Creek High School.
