Female Athlete of the Month - Hana Catic

Female Athlete of the Month - Hana Catic

Female Athlete of the Month - Hana Catic - Varsity Volleyball
Johns Creek is proud to recognize Hana Catic as our October Female Athlete of the Month. A senior standout on the Gladiator volleyball team, Hana has distinguished herself through exceptional athletic achievement, outstanding leadership, and unwavering dedication in the classroom.
This season, Hana reached a remarkable milestone by recording her 1,000th career kill, cementing her place among the top volleyball players in program history. Her impact on the court has been felt throughout her career, including helping lead the Gladiators to a Region Championship during her junior season. Following graduation, Hana will continue her academic and athletic journey at Radford University, where she has committed to play collegiate volleyball.
While her athletic accomplishments are impressive, Hana's influence extends far beyond the volleyball court. Teachers and coaches consistently praise her work ethic, resilience, and positive attitude.
"I am so happy for Hana to be honored with this award! Hana is a positive presence and hardworking student in my AP Statistics class. She asks insightful questions and is always engaged in our cooperative activities. Despite balancing the demands of travel and recovering from a volleyball injury, she has remained remarkably proactive about catching up and keeping pace with our fast-moving course. Hana's resilience and dedication to both academics and athletics make her truly deserving of this recognition. Congratulations, Hana!" said Anna McIlroy, AP Statistics teacher.
Those same qualities have made Hana an invaluable leader within the volleyball program.
"Hana is incredibly deserving of this recognition, and I couldn't be happier to see her honored as Athlete of the Month," said Katie Scott, Head Volleyball Coach. "She is a tremendous leader both on and off the court, and her impact on our program goes far beyond the statistics. Hana is a true difference maker in game play, bringing a level of competitiveness, composure, and determination that elevates the people around her."
Coach Scott continued, "I have genuinely loved the opportunity to work with her during her senior season, and I feel fortunate to have coached an athlete who brings so much talent, leadership, and level-headedness to our program. Hana has absolutely made a lasting impact on the Johns Creek volleyball program, and her contributions to this team will not be forgotten. I have no doubt that she will continue to excel and make a meaningful impact in her next chapter with the Radford University team."
In the classroom, Hana's determination is equally evident. Mylan Dang, AP Calculus AB teacher, has witnessed firsthand her commitment to continuous improvement.
"I have known Hana for a few years. This year I had the honor to teach her AP Calculus AB. Calculus AB is a challenge for most students at the beginning, including Hana. Hana has never given up but has worked
hard to improve her understanding and her performance in class. She never missed any homework and always tried to come after school if she needed some support. It is amazing that Hana can balance her time invested in sports and academics. Hana is well-deserved to be Athlete of the Month."
Whether competing at the highest level on the volleyball court or tackling the challenges of advanced academic coursework, Hana consistently demonstrates the character, perseverance, and leadership that define a true student-athlete. Her accomplishments have left a lasting legacy at Johns Creek High School, and the entire Gladiator community looks forward to watching her continued success at Radford University.
Congratulations to Hana Catic, Johns Creek’s October Female Athlete of the Month!
