Male Athlete of the Month - Ryan Gottschalk - Soccer Johns Creek High School is proud to announce Ryan Gottschalk as the Male Athlete of the Month for March, recognizing a student-athlete whose excellence on the soccer pitch is matched by his dedication and achievement in the classroom. A standout member of the men’s soccer program, Gottschalk has been instrumental in one of the most successful seasons in program history. Currently tied for the team lead in goals, Ryan has 47 points on the season and recently delivered a remarkable stretch in which he scored eight goals in just three games. His performances helped propel the Gladiators to a victory over Milton to claim the Region Championship, and earlier this season the team was ranked No. 1 in the nation, a testament to the high level of play and consistency throughout the year. Men’s Soccer Coach Kelly Bowler praised Ryan’s skill and impact on the field, saying, “Ryan Gottschalk is a silky smooth player. Exquisite on the ball and a nightmare to try and defend.” His technical ability, creativity, and composure under pressure have made him one of the most dangerous attacking players in the region and a key leader during the team’s championship run. Ryan’s excellence extends far beyond athletics. In the classroom, he is known as a high-achieving, hardworking, and humble student who sets the standard for his peers. Mylan Dang, his AP Calculus AB teacher highlighted his commitment and work ethic: “Ryan is a bright and diligent but so humble student. He is one of the high achievers in my AP Calculus AB class. Ryan never missed any homework assignment. If he has any questions or misses any lessons, he will come after school—even on Friday—to ask for help. Excellent work ethic!” In addition to excelling in core academics, Ryan has distinguished himself in the Advanced Sports and Entertainment Marketing pathway, where his professionalism and communication skills shine. Marketing teacher Joe Eineker shared, “Ryan Gottschalk is an outstanding young man in the classroom and on the field. He is one of our top students. Ryan consistently creates presentations that are industry-worthy, with a clear and confident way of communicating to peers and teachers. I am very impressed with his work ethic and demeanor, and I truly appreciate the effort he puts into the course.” Whether he is scoring goals in critical matches, preparing high-level presentations, or staying after school to master challenging material, Ryan Gottschalk represents the ideals of Johns Creek High School.
