The Johns Creek Lady Gladiators continued their impressive run Wednesday night, cruising to a 15-1 victory over the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets on the road. The win marked Johns Creek's 10th consecutive victory and improved the team's record to 12-2 overall and 1-0 in Region play.
Swara Khatri led the way both in the circle and at the plate. The sophomore tossed a complete game, allowing just two hits while striking out four batters in the dominant performance. Khatri also contributed offensively with two hits and two RBIs.
The Lady Gladiators' offense produced hits throughout the lineup. Isla Wells and Avery Huffman each recorded multi-hit games, while Audrey Lafon, Zelda Arthur, Hayden Kennedy, Reese Stiltner, and Kennedy Brewer also added hits in the 15-run attack.
Johns Creek's balanced offense and strong pitching have been key factors during the team's current winning streak, which now stands at 10 games.
The Lady Gladiators will have little time to celebrate as they turn right around and travel to Gainesville on Thursday for an important Region contest. With momentum on their side, Johns Creek will look to continue its strong start to Region play and extend its winning streak.
