Behind a dominant ground attack, the Gladiators rushed for 274 yards on 39 carries and scored three rushing touchdowns to secure the season-opening victory.
Jake Blackwelder led the rushing effort with 100 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. Michael Hanley provided another explosive option out of the backfield, rushing eight times for 100 yards and a score. Dayo Nanye-John added 65 yards and a touchdown on seven carries as Johns Creek controlled the game on the ground from start to finish.
The Gladiator defense played a key role in the win, forcing turnovers and consistently disrupting Northview's offense.
Elijah Antoine paced the defense with six tackles, one assist, and a forced fumble. Carson Cox contributed four tackles, a quarterback pressure, and recovered a fumble. Brit Landry recorded seven tackles and two assists, while Owen Crawford delivered a standout performance with six tackles, one assist, two tackles for loss, and a sack.
Johns Creek will look to build on the momentum this Friday when the Gladiators hit the road for a matchup against Centennial High School.
